I sat in the hot tub this morning, reflecting on the whole diet/life style thing...the "human" diet has changed so many times..everything it seems, foods swing from being a wholesome, healthy food to a poison it seems (like eggs...carbs in general...red meat.etcetcetc)..I think back when I was under 10 years old my parents were concerned that I was "spindly" I took cod liver oil daily..I look at pictures from elementary school and I was skinny!..(I have often kidded my mother that she made all my fat cells when I was young and look at me now)..went through my growth spurt in junior high and by the 9th grade was the second biggest kid in the school..and kept increasing from there...I think now, with my vegetarian life style I can get my weight back to a comfortable healthy weight...I think Dr McDougall is right throughout history, a high starch plant based diet is the healthy human diet, meat,refined sugar, refined foods of any kind was for the rich and powerful..kings, queens, priests..and they were sick with the aliments that plague us now...heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and so on... well so much for my rambling time to eat...lol
