Oatmeal with cream: $0.28
Vegetable and garbanzo stew: $0.55

I should eat a little bit more, but I'm pretty stuffed right now. My goal is to keep it under $5/day.

Ick! Today was the day of eating fast food garbage, I guess. I spent the afternoon and evening out on a photography expedition then in the darkroom, and I hadn't planned my eating beforehand, so it was catch as catch can. I'm still under my calorie goal, though.
On the flip side, my menu for this week looks to be 100% vegetarian, so getting the meat out of the way beforehand isn't so bad.

Company party tonight... open bar and fabulous food. I had three glasses of wine, various hors d'oeuvres, and I'm not even going to try to count. My calorie count for the day ends when the party starts. It's the way I roll.

Whoops!
My daily goal is 1250 calories, but I allow myself about 250 slack in either direction.
This evening after dinner I realized that my calorie count for the day was way too low, and decided it would be a good night for a treat. I melted bittersweet chocolate with heavy cream in the microwave, stirred it together, then used that as a dip for banana slices.
Total for the day: 1249 calories. Perfect!
A minute after I finished eating it I remembered the beer I had during a meeting at work this afternoon. Whoops! Oh well. I'm still within bounds, but I wouldn't have had the chocolate if I'd remembered the beer first.
