I am 48 years old, very active as I run a local girl guide company and love to go walking, camping, canoeing and anything else the girls take part in. I've been trying to lose weight - always!! I have 5 children and the last time I had a good weight loss was when my 2nd youngest, who is now almost 20 was quite small. I went to weight watchers and it took me ages but I lost 2 1/2 stone!! Since then I've tried WW again but don't like the regime of weighing out everything - besides which I work full time and don't have the time to do this.
I am desperate to look and feel good in clothes that I like, rather than trying to cover up all the time. It seems to be harder to lose weight now than when I was in my 20's, plus my body is threatening to go through the change, although up to now it's just missed periods which are a bit annoying, but not too much of a problem.
I love vegetables and although I'm a vegetarian, I do like fish on occasions. I eat beans as well as quorn for protein intake, but mainly concentrate on fruit and veg intake. If there's anyone else out there who has any tips, I'll be interested to hear about them but in the meantime I'll carry on reading what other people are saying.
