I noted that my last recorded weigh in was on Oct. 12 on the 13th my husband and I had taken our dog to the dog park and I was hit from behind by three big dogs playing, it wasn't an attack it was just a Great Dane a Boxer and a Bulldog playing and they were running fast and hit me from behind I went down sort of cattywampus and blew out my knees the right much worse than the left. It has been quite an ordeal fortunately no surgery but cortisone shots x rays and MRIs I am to begin PT this Friday. The pain was really bad I've had knee issues all my life but this was by far the worst ever no doubt because of my weight. I have managed to stay pretty close to 20 g or less of carbs except one day I was depressed and got my husband to get jelly beans and potato chips and icecream- so I really blew it out that day but otherwise I've just gone over a couple of grams on a couple of days, I have been bedridden most of the time for the first three or four days I was really wishing I had a catheter sitting with my legs at a 90 degree angle was agony. The pain has gradually gotten better and I have only been taking OTC pain med not the RX at all for several days. So my weight is up .5 lb I guess it could be worse since one of my biggest issues is emotional eating.

I have been waffling on this for almost a year. I started doing Ideal Health which basically uses Atkins theories and science but charges a LOT of money for it and the food is terribly over processed it really messed up my digestion, took months to get squared away, then I tried WW and now Atkins again. I'm trying to do better this time. Last week on the 13th I was knocked over by big dogs in the dog park and blew out both knees, the Ortho doc told me that every lb you're carrying above your knees is like 4 lbs on your knees. So I've got to get squared away.

Weight Watchers is the only diet that has worked for me in the past. I always felt it was a lot of trouble to keep up with the points counting. I have tried the Hilton Head Diet which was very low calorie and I think actually messed up my metabolism, it worked after I had babies but i don't think it's a healthy one. I never did the maintenance phase and the weight came back. What I want to do ultimately is get back to healthy eating patterns that kept me thin well into my 30s. I know I need more activity as well.
