Today's tip:
Don't drink soda
repeat:
Do not drink soda. Ever. Put it down. It's not worth it. Think of how many other places you could be getting those calories.
repeat:
SODA = BAD
If anyone has a counterpoint about how drinking soda is actually good for you in some way I'd like to hear it.
Today's workout:
10 minute jog
3x12 Squats, end weight: 205
3x12 Deadlifts (light, perfecting form)
5x12 Leg presses, end weight: 340
10 mins on elliptical
Little by little by little I'm getting stronger. NEW GOAL:
By the end of the summer I want to be squatting 225 with perfect form and pressing 360

A little Sunday tip
One thing I've started doing is putting my food on the smallest plate possible. I grab a small plate or, sometimes, even a little saucer that normally goes under a tea cup. Usually when I use a bigger plate I am naturally inclined to put more food on it: Maybe an extra scoop of this, a bigger spoonful of that, etc.
Also, I have been conditioned by my parents through years and years of value-mindedness to always clean my plate. If you use a tiny plate you can put a lot less food on and still clean the whole thing.
Take Home Message:
When you cook at home, use the smallest plate possible for your food. You'll naturally give yourself smaller helpings and still feel the psychological satisfaction of cleaning your plate.

Losing 5.6 kg a Week
27 July 2007
Today I did extremely well, and I want to document it here, kinda to remind myself that I can have these kinds of days.
Breakfast: 2 eggs, 1 slice of wheat toast (no butter)
After workout: Creatine drink
Lunch: Bowl of beef vegetable soup at a little diner
Dinner: EAS AdvantEdge carb control bar
Workout: 85 flights of stairs on stairstepper, 5 miles on bike, just under 1 mile run, carrying grocery bags for older family friend.
Happy Friday everyone, and I hope your weekends go well!

Goals
I have found that setting cardio goals based on mileage is better than time. For instance, if I decide I'm going to run one mile or bike 5 miles, I tend to push myself a lot harder. if it's a matter of "Let's do 15 minutes" I never do as many miles as if I set a goal that takes 15 minutes to do.
Fun tip:
Doing a stair stepper will leave you all "Phew, I certainly am breathing hard."
