I just returned from my son's birthday party, and everyone noticed how good I look health- and weight-wise. I ate a few strawberries and blueberries! Now my son is getting very interested in HFLC/keto. He is a swim coach and is very interested in diet. He had just heard that all "diets" that are successful over a long period of time without rebound are based on the low-carb/high-fat way of eating. Nice thing--you don't HAVE to pay for any programs or shell out any money for special designer food or supplements. I do it completely on my own with plain, simple foods. I don't even cook special recipes that imitate what I no longer eat. I do like zoodles, but I don't expect them to substitute for spaghetti. I don't do shakes or energy drinks or fat bombs or bullet-proof coffee either. 30+ lbs released, 6 inches around my waist gone. I love the way I eat!

I have been forgetting to check my waist measurement, so I was completely amazed today to see I have lost 6 full inches since January! I had a huge prime rib dinner last night, so I didn't expect much. I measure 1 Inch below the belly button without pulling in my tummy. And I was just thinking how my tummy still sticks out so far! Keto really does work! Having studied it, I realize this is not a fad diet, but is "faddified" by some. The food and diet and nutrition industries just haven't caught up yet. I'm glad my family physician steered me in the right direction.

I joined the LCHF 90 Day Challenge. The goals are simple. Record everything I eat every day, and drink 8 glasses of water a day. The water is actually the hardest part for me, but I'm getting used to it. It helps that we're having a heat wave. Too bad the challenge won't record my achievements, but it doesn't really matter. I'm still losing slowly, but I keep losing. Yay! I'm doing a bit more meal prepping by sauteeing large batches of mixed vegetables, unseasoned, which I use during the week to make different types of meals. Great as a nest for fried eggs, or cold as a salad addition, or added to broth for soup. This week I used onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, summer squash, and spinach. Next batch will use eggplant as a base. I find re-bagged mixed veggies on sale for pennies on the dollar to do this. Enjoy your way of eating, everyone!
