what's everyone's input on green tea extract? caffeine supplements? garcia cambogia ? ( hope I spelled that right? hehe). These seem to be the "in" supplements right now and Ive been reading a lot about caffeine on BB.com lately. Im following Dr. Jim Stoppani's shortcut to strength program and he recommends caffeine/green tea but Ive yet to jump on that band wagon and wanted to do my research which always includes asking my friends on fat secret.. I will admit, I drag right around 3 pm and usually want to nap and usually have a cup of joe or red bull.. which i always feel bad about after wards but drink em anyway.. if i could omit the tiredness and have the added benefit of a fat burner with out the edginess, I would be really really stoked.. Whats everyone's input? What do you do for that "edge" thru out the day.. any alternatives ?

Caffeine is a staple if you can tolerate it...raises metabolism slightly. Green Coffee Extract is good and shown results in trials (Green Tea..not sure), Garcinia Cambogia...hit-or-miss...conflicting trials. For what it's worth. Jim Stoppani has great information, just check the dates on the articles...sometimes articles aren't refreshed as new evidence is available.

Don't waste your time on the garcinia cambogia...green tea is good, can boost metabolism and caffeine can boost your energy level and stave off hunger...but it can make you nervy...so be careful of the jitters...Good luck! When I need a pick me up, a small cup of coffee and/ or a nap...but not after 4PM otherwise I am up too late or if I do fall asleep, I wake up wide -eyed every few hours or dream too much! We all need that little pick me up later in the day, don't we? :)

I love green tea. I don't know if I've noticed any added health benefit but it does not give me the jitters that coffee does. I'm typically low energy but after a few cups I avoided an impending face plant today. I've also heard great things about Matcha Green Tea. Best wishes on your research.

I cold brew one tall mason jar of water with one organic green tea bag on the counter every day. I drink it around 3pm and start a new oneā€¦ Have I noticed a huge change, nope but it is a nice change from water, water and more water.

I take a caffeine pill if I don't have coffee but know that starting something like an appetite depressant only lasts if you keep taking it and I don't want to be hooked on anything...ever...again : ) Looks like you are on the right track and doing great to me!

I tried garcinia cambogia and it did nothing for me. I drink green tea with caffeine and it kills my appetite when I want to avoid eating...I also feel like I lose when I drink green tea daily.

Black coffee is my drink of choice, I probably drink too much some days but I love the flavour and the kick (if I need it)...would not have made it through university without it...apparently it is both a mild stimulant and appetite suppressant (I'm not sure if it does that for me), according to my Dr., two cups a day is optimal anything more is not beneficial...I drink a lot of "not beneficial" coffee I guess.

I drink one cup black coffee then I have four cups green tea and 80-90oz of water. I love the tea bc I don't drink pots of coffee anymore.

Love green tea.Drink it every day! I dont know its effect on weight loss but it certainly makes me feel less lethargic.

I'm on Keto, so I start my day w/ Bullet Proof coffee, but coffe is really watered down. More like coffee flavored coconut milk. But the energy spike is great. No mid-aft slump where I seem to desire the caffeine

Caffeine is a workout staple if you're not sensitive to it. It can make you jittery depending on your dose and tolerance. It's best to cycle it as you build a tolerance to it. Green tea is a good source plus it has other beneficial compounds. Coffee is good also but has more caffeine than green tea. Caffeine pills are another option. Garcinia cambogia has a spotty track record, probably not worth it.

I have 1 coffee in the morning then tea the rest of the day. Zhena gypsy teas makes some really nice green or black tea blends as well as a nice roobois.(Amazon) The nice thing about a cuppa is you can have it hot if you are hungry or cold or iced if you need something refreshing to pick you up and its inexpensive.

I used to be a big pop drinker, that's how I got my caffeine. Now there is no pop, except on very rare occasions, and I take a GNC Burn 60 supplement. It does have caffeine in it (Guarana seed extract) and it uses black tea, not green. You are supposed to take it a half hour before you work out, or on off days in the morning with breakfast. I haven't really seen anything that would put me at a drag during the midday, even with my workout days, but that's just me. Everyone is different. I've been on it for a little more than a week now and have seen about a pound a day drop. Again, everyone is different, and if you are trying supplements, you may find some don't work for you and others will. I found it to be a trial and error with me and my wife. It took us a few different purchases and research to see what we would like.

There is a fusion of green and white tea that I would recommend. It's SO yummy if you like tea and white tea has the most antioxidants of any tea. I buy mine at Wegmans. I can only speak for me but I like it alot. It's my #2 favorite tea of all time. It perks me up and it's also great over some ice.

Bssj, where can you get that tea if we don't have the same store? Is there a brand? Thanks!

If my blood sugar is right (because I've limited carbs enough) I don't get that afternoon slump. I am caffeine sensitive and find if I'm in the habit of drinking it I'm just tireder overall. I have been in the habit of a morning cup and I'm gradually switching over to decaf. When I've done this in the past, waking up in the morning becomes a whole different experience. I come wide awake like a kid again instead of fully waking up only after I've had my coffee fix.
