Finally the holidays are over. I'm still messing around with my biscotti recipes, but today should be the last batch. Sorry... not a recipe that should be shared here; there's nothing healthful or diet-related about it (except in the sense of "you're breaking your diet")
I've been careful about what I eat, but certainly not strict. Unfortunately in addition to not dieting properly I also caught something, got sick, and stopped working out. AND my Mom's in town which inevitably leads to a bit more food, somehow. On the plus side I take her and the dog for long walks to make sure she gets some exercise. So I've got a spike of 4 pounds, but that should be coming down.
This needs to be the last year of weight-related new years resolutions for me. I want to get my weight down to an acceptable range, and stay in that range consistently. One thing that's different this year is that I feel a greater sense of diet and weight control than I had before. That is, the relationship between what I eat, what exercise I get, what lifestyle choices I make and my weight and health seem clearer and more under my control. My weakness is still the daily temptations placed in front of me -- chips and salsa, my mom's fruitcake, biscotti, brownies, chocolate, beer and wine.
