I blew it last night. We had friends over to dinner. I had 3 glasses of wine, fruit, 3 chocolate chip cookies. (I also had a salmon salad with lots of good stuff.)
Worked out this morning.
Any hint on how to avoid wine with friends?

only way i think to avoid that whole alcohol thing with friends is to let them know you are trying to cut back for awhile...i think a true friend is going to help and not hinder. Not that they shouldn't be allowed to have their drinks...but they shouldn't be trying to make you have it either. And if thats not really the case, that its more you wanting the drink, i guess it boils down to self control. That or pop a mint in your mouth...it'll trash the taste of the wine, so why bother ;)

Drink a lot of water before hand so your bladder is full or make sure you eat a very big salad or a huge serving of fruit. If you're full you won't want wine. Also, let yourself have a glass, it's ok to indulge just don't go overboard. Just drink the glass very slowly and savor it.

Do what I do, get a wine glass, fill it with water, add a lemon or lime wedge and a chunk of ice and enjoy.

I agree with victorialynn, just have some if it's really killing you. I do, and I just expect the scales to slow down for a few days. But a couple of glasses of wine are not going to derail your efforts that badly, just jump back on the next day. P.S. If you're not in phase 1, red wine is "sanctioned" on SBD. Dr. Agatston says it has a lot of antioxidant benefits, so just drink one or two and stop.
