Selarisa's Journal, 09 Oct 20

Whenever I dieted before I would always get frustrated when the numbers didn't drop fast enough and I would give up thinking it wasn't working. This time I'm looking at long term results and focusing on my diet and doing little things to keep me moving through out the day and going to the gym 1-2 days a week....and it's working! Slow and steady, I'll get where I want to be!

I don’t focus on weight loss, I put my energy into body image, and cardio strength, and the rest seems to take care of itself. 👍🏻

I used to focus on weight loss but now I'm learning how to eat properly and trying out different things to keep me moving and active. 5 minutes at work all by myself? I do a set of squats. No one else in the kitchen? 10 push-ups using the counter. It sneaks a little bit of exercise into my day. I try to push myself when I'm at the gym. I've lost 15 lbs and even though I don't see the difference when I look in the mirror (yet) I'm starting to see the benefits in my day to day life. I can do more stairs without running out of breath as fast, I can carry more weight in one of those little baskets at the grocery store, I can walk further and faster than I used to. It's these little things that show me I'm making progress even if the mirror doesn't. That's what is keeping me motivated! I'm improving my life and the weight loss is secondary but definitely nice to see on the scales!

I think you guys are on the right track. Although it's nice to see a lower number on the scale, all the things you've listed are wins. Keep up the good work!!
