This doctor would like 2600 calories but right now would be happy if I could consistently be over 1200. I'm working on it. Some days are nowhere close & others I'm constantly hungry & roaming the kitchen. I had a doctor back in 2004 that put me on an 600 calorie diet & told me that as big as I was it wouldn't hurt me to skip meals. Told me someone my size could live for days on just water, that my body burn off my fat stores. I cut my calories in half , keeping between 200 - 300. Did that off & on for almost year & half. Then years after keeping my calories anywhere from 200- 800. My health took a bad turn & I wound up on disability. I have severe asthma, high blood pressure, heart problems, balance issues, I am diabetic, have stomach problems, degenerative bone disease , I'm limited on what exercises I am now able to do. After almost falling on my face in front of my doctor he asked me why I wasn't using my cane. Told him that between neurologist & eye specialist we discovered that I have almost no peripheral vision & being klutz in general I kept tripping myself with my cane. He asked if I used shopping cart at store & if it was easier to lean on that & walk? So now he's going to recommend a rolling walker with a seat to my primary care doctor. That way I can hold onto it & walk , if I get too dizzy or out of breath I can sit down if need to. That way I can be more mobile again. I just worry about becoming to dependant on it. Are your eyes glazing over ? Betcha you're sorry you asked now huh ? Grandma always did say I could talk the ear off a mule. 😵
