Expected a bigger jump due to water weight. Will probably show up tomorrow.
Taking it easy, taking it eeeaaaassssyyyy... (yes I’m singing it) today. Dropped kid off, for fuel ( for me and suburban ), thrift store so another kid could look for a used book case, picked up kid, home to wash dishes and the hamster cage we found and now lunch. Job interview for my 13 year old. She’s already deciding how she will spend her money! No interview completed, no idea what the job will be, how much it pays or even if she will get it 🤦♀️. Teaching this one to be financially responsible is becoming a big challenge. My middle has $180 saved (40% of allowance also goes into savings that she can’t touch) and my 4 ur old saved $21 and have her allowance she can’t touch. My oldest just has the 40% set back. At this rate she will have $620 saved for her car at 16 and nothing else. She could have saved $2400 by the time she turns 16 if not more. Name brand everything, roller blades, now wants her own phone, computer and top of the line bike. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ Gonna suck when she’s riding that fancy bike 6-7 miles to school in the snow and rain lol. Oh well she will learn from me or she will learn the hard way. 🤷♀️
Now after lunch we are heading to her interview. I hope she gets it as I know the people and can trust them, she does need the money to save for her car etc but I’m not looking forward to two trips tot he school per day and another 1-2 trips for work each day. We agreed that she would pay fuel for one trip so she gets the idea that cars and fuel take money. That’ll be about $2 a day so won’t take much. Thought about taking out ‘tax’ and setting it aside in a ‘retirement’ fund (that would actually be her car fund), but I’m hoping she chooses to be responsible and not blow it the minute I’m not there to take her out of it.
