Sometimes life throws you a curve ball, then another and another. You have to field them as best you can. My curve balls started in 2010 when I did so much damage to my ankle resulting in an operation a year. I thought the last one would be at the end of last year when I had the total ankle replacement operation.
But no, the Bowler wasn't finished with me. Out of nowhere acute appendicitis resulting in it bursting before I got to the operating table.
This is not good timing. I'm self employed in the tourism industry and coming into the start of the season. I'm working out how to field this latest development given my instructions from the medical profession. After two major operations in quick succession, one involving a massive infection, if I didn't take a proper recovery period, I risk something else popping up and biting me on the bum.
Now where did I leave my thinking cap?

What a struggle! Not the staying on track eating wise but the stubbornness of the scales to shift. After a review with my doctor, it was reiterated that the medication I'm on not only causes weight gain but also makes it very difficult to shift. I content myself, somewhat, with eating healthily.

A bit of a bummer today. A trip to see my ankle consultant, the three month follow up after my op. My foot and ankle have been, shall we say, problematical for the past week or so. Just getting some mobility back in it and I go and develop Plantar fasciitis which is preventing me fully load bearing and a syndrome called RSD, or as it's been renamed to, CRPS, is causing problems from the foot to the knee. I need have this sorted so I can get on with my life.
