Ok - so we got back from a 12 day vacation, and I lasted about 2 days writing down my food. I knew I wasn't going to totally stick to the diet - I just didn't want to have to worry about what I was eating EVERY time I ate, especially if there weren't good choices available on the road, but I was going to TRY to at least be conscious of what I was eating and write it out. FAILED! I didn't go totally crazy, but it was vacation. I gained less than 5 lbs, which is what I expected. I'm not putting myself down for gaining, I take full responsibility for what I ate. So now I'm back on track. I noticed I was SOOO tired from eating the stuff I was eating and I'm actually glad we're home and I can eat good food!

Woohoo! I'm under the 275 mark (minor goal here). I snuck a peek at the scale yesterday, thinking there would be a gain after my Saturday and the fact I'm going to start any day now. However there was a still a loss - although minor. But I was ok with that - yesterday I was at 275.6. I figured maybe after a day I could sneak under 275 - never did I think I would lose another 1.6 lbs in one day. So I don't know if I was just REALLY bloated last week, or if it had anything to do with the fact I didn't drink ANY Coke Zero yesterday. I only had water and a cup of coffee.

So yesterday I went to my friend's house for a BBQ. I figured she usually has a variety of things to eat and I won't have to be too picky...I'm sure I'll find something. I was SOOO wrong! She did have a veggie platter, but dinner consisted of steak, hamburgers, shrimp, potato salad and 3 bean salad. Not a wide variety of low cal stuff. I ate before I went but it was so long before we ate and I swam in the pool I was starving! So I ate...and I drank (that's what did me in!). I went WAY over but I accounted for it. I know today is another day.

I passed my second "eat out" test. I've stayed away to save money and to resist temptation, but this seems to be celebration week at my office. On Monday we went to P.F. Chang's to celebrate someone's first day at the firm. I looked up the nutritional content and decided before I went what I was ordering. They have lunch bowls, and I found the salmon bowl with brown rice. 320 calories. NOT BAD! Then I looked again. The lunch bowl, meant for 1 person, is TWO SERVINGS! So the bowl itself actual has 640 calories! You really have to watch that stuff! I wound up eating it, and I counted it so all was good. I just stayed away from the fried Green Beans!
Today was a birthday celebration. At first they were off to the Mexican Restaurant, then changed to the Lebanese place. I just decided I didn't want to go. I don't want to blow it and waste the calories on food I don't like all that much. I don't even want to waste the calories on food I DO like! lol So I talked to the birthday girl and asked if she'd be insulted if I didn't go. Of course she was gracious and understood.
Now I just have to duck out to the restroom when they're serving the cake and all will be good! lol
