Confession time: Blew it last night. Had a sneak attack and ate hummus, trail mix. Completely forgot about having the broth, which is supposed to get us through moments like those.
Ok, that's it. Today is a new day.

1100 cals 54 carbs, 110 protein - 2nd day of Oz.

833 cals, 50 carbs and 84 protein. Numbers for first day on Total 10 Oz.
Was not hungry but woke up this morning at 5:30 starved.
Got up and made eggs.
This is doable.

All right, moose meat is about the same as chicken breast -- 38 cals an ounce. So guess who is having moose/veggie burgers for dinner. All those veggies in the broth that is cooking (see previous post) are low glycemic, except the carrots, which are similar to turnips and probably onions, which Oz's plan calls for, but I did not have.
My main goal for trying this plan is to see if I can stay satisfied without thinking about food all the time, and craving one more piece of that dense black German rye, which I never should have bought, and which is going in the freezer, along with the sour dough, since it is obvious I have no control. Well, I do, but even one piece (of each) pushes the carb count way too high for me.

Ok, I checked out the new Oz plan, and it is tough, if not impossible. It calls for a broth you can drink anytime, so I put the vegs in to simmer. I did not have the exact veggies he listed so I used what I had. Stupid to through them out, especially when they were baby bella mushrooms, red, yellow and orange peppers, 6 huge zucchini, celery, and a bag of organic baby carrots. The perfectionist in me has already started in, beating me up for substituting veggies, but I am telling her to shut her mouth and drink the broth.
My inner critic (I have many) is shouting about this plan is only 10 days... then what? But I am telling her to shut her mouth and just get through one days. Don't worry about 10, and surely don't worry about after that.
So far I drank the lemon water and did the Skinny Gut shake for breakfast. Then for early lunch I ate 3 eggs, cooked in a non-stick skillet. I limited myself to one cup of coffee, as it says.
I'm already arguing with the spendthrift who doesn't want to throw out the veggies once the broth is done. She may win this one. I may puree them and put them in a meatloaf of moose meat. (My son brought me Alaskan salmon and a pkg of moose meat when he was here Christmas. Does moose meat count as fish? This time it is going to because it is already thawed out. I'll look it up and see how it compares.
