I've been enjoying my ketone meter and i has allowed me to measure impacts immediately and tweak from there. Since the test strips are only $0.99 each, it's even way more affordable!
Since it doubles as a glucose meter, I was able to see if a new sweetener called alluose impacted my blood sugar...it did so I won't be using that again! Now if they only made an insulin meter!
Can you tell I'm an engineer? ;)

From my point of view, ketosis is the mother of success. It controls my appetite without effort and I eat less and think about food less. I can tell the difference when I think "just a bite" of something I know will throw me off ketosis...it can take days to get back up to my usual ketone levels.
I have addede taking my glucose readings to taking my ketone readings. By post-dinner ketones range from 1.5-3 mmol/l and my blood sugar runs 105-112 mg/dl. This is about an hour after my last bite. My fasting blood sugar, right before I break my 6PM to 10 AM fast is running about 85 mg/dl. These readings are great because they reflect the healing of my glucose spikes and my hypoglycemia.
I'm not weighing myself because healing my dysfunctional metabolism comes first, but I do notice my pants are baggy. Overall things are going well and as planned....ketosis is key!

Signed up for Low Carb USA in July in San Diego. this will be my first low carb convention but I've been wanting to go so bit the bullet!

SO yesterday, I only ate one meal. I do IF with eating period of 10AM to 6 PM, the hubs was making a beautiful grass-fed pot roast so I waited and ate about 1 PM. I wasn't hungry by 6 PM so didn't eat dinner.
My ketones were lower than ever, 1.4, but still in ketosis but I'm wondering why?
One thing that comes to mind is that ketones are a sign of burning fat. Maybe because I ate less (my food was keto all the way)there was less fat to burn, so it all came out of stores. Maybe all those days of 3.0+ is a sign that I had more dietary fat to burn.
We'll see as I track. I made bone broth over the weekend and will be having it during my fasting period this week. I try not to vary much so I can determine what is causing the changes I'm seeing in my ketone meter readings.

I'm 8/16 IF and keto. I have a Keto Mojo meter and am recording my intake to measure my macros and see what impacts it has to my ketones.
My ketones run between 1.5 to 3.1 mmol/L and from my macros, I get my highest readings with >70% fat, , 5% carb and the rest protein.
I didn't start IF until I was well into ketosis, so it hasn't been difficult.
Future plans: Continue to track and tweak and to move to 6/18 IF to see if that increases my fat-adaptation.
