I find it interesting that my wife (who was concerned about my health and initially got me motivated) is now concerned that I am going too far (she could lose a few pounds, but I don't say anything about it because she is not unhealthy) Not only that, we have friends who we go out with / hang out with frequently who are probably 30 and 50 pounds over weight, one who used to try to be healthy, but they have both given up.
It's their choice. I certianly don't preach to them, but my wife gets on my case that I should ignore my diet on the times we hang out as not to insult them. Ha!
I said "So I should neglect my health as not to insult someone who is neglecting theirs?" People are strange. My wife is just a sweetheart who doesn't understand that sometimes you have to be selfish to accomplish things in life. If you spend all your time worring about how other people feel you will neglect your own happiness.

At this point my goal is to replace the remaining body fat with muscle which will take much longer than it took to lose 38 lbs. But I stuck to the science and lost the weight. Now for more science to gain the muscle. Patience and perseverance pays off.

Over 3100 calories yesterday and weight is stable at 150.5. I stayed below my maintenence level for a day that included a 3 mile run, 2.5 mile bike ride (for some groceries) a 2 mile walk and a sit/push up routine. I earned my splurge so I guess it's technically not a splurge, but I'll take what I can get without failing myself.
