For years I starved myself. Ten years to be exact. I isolated myself from people who loved me and social situations, so I could be alone with my addiction to restriction. Once I decided to start eating again, I didn't know how to respond to my body's cues. I ended up restricting or binging and purging to get a handle on my weight. In 2015, when I was pregnant with my son, I decided to change. It's been a slow journey. I am not a patient person, but I'm learning to be.
