sooo i was bad last night.. work was just awful and it was a long shift and our a/c and cable went out ( i work at home) so I was snippy with BF and then emotionally ate some ice cream. I dont care about the carbs as much as I do that it was dairy and REALLY messed up my stomach.. I need to stop that abusing my body this way. I know dairy is bad for me, but I just dont care sometimes. I can handle some cheeses in moderation and heavy cream and occasional yogurt but that's about it. Any more that that and I wanna die.. SOO boo hoo.. enough whining. Trying to redeem myself today.. Im 2 lbs away from my goal of 180 by this weekend. I really need to get my rear in gear. Missed the gym again today bc I was too lazy to get out of bed.We are almost done moving and I was just straight up tired. BUT the week is not over. I can still make progress (this is my pep talk to myself) LOL. Hoping every one is having a great day so far! Cheers !

I knew you were going to say ice cream before you did. In sympathy, I bought some yesterday, too. But, I just purchased Vanilla low fat at Walmart. I am looking forward to drizzling sugar free chocolate over it when my dad gets here for his visit. He ate ice cream every night of his life and is 97 and weighs only a stone above 100. Who said ice cream was evil?

you should keep frozen bananas in your fridge, when you crave ice cream you can put them in a food processor to blend. You can add sweetener of your choice, plus vanilla or something to give it flavor (even frozen berries or other fruits). It's sweet and creamy just like regular ice cream. And it won't hurt your stomach!

Rough patch, and it sounds like you needed a break- chilling out is important too-but it sounds like you're on the right track for the long run. 👍

Oh, I soooo hear you on the dairy. EE as well. I'm mostly off dairy now, but carry individual-packed lactase tablets anyway. I can't even have 1/2&1/2 in coffee without extreme discomfort, but sometimes the emotional comfort isn't an appeal I care to fight off. So at least I can reduce the physical fall-out. I also tend to EE if things are too hectic and I'm not getting enough space and downtime. Sounds like you've had a huge amount going on! And it's just Tuesday. You're awesome for being here and telling it straight and keeping on keeping on.

Oh cool -BF is moving in to your house now that DH is gone. Stress is killer - so I use exercise. I tend to eat when I am angry...but have been better lately. Idiot Box is moving down now. WE can do this...

I don't know where you live, but in Chicago I can get lactose-free dairy milk, sour cream, cream cheese and yogurt. All Cabot cheeses are lactose free, as are the Kraft shredded cheeses. Ice cream makes me so sick that in order to eat it, I have to make it myself from lactose-free half & half. I can eat most yogurts that are real live culture yogurts, and I've had good luck with Chobani. I keep coffee Chobani yogurt in the house, and when I think I'm about to have a fit of some kind, I eat a coffee Chobani with a TBSP of extra dark, low sugar chocolate chips. It really does the trick without going totally off the rails. Good luck. I know what a struggle this is. I've been traveling this road my whole life, and I love the FS community because it's made me feel like I'm not on my own...

thanks everyone for the wonderful support. Im so glad to be back in my own home and Im sure that once the moving and unpacking are done, I will fall back into my old routine of being a lean mean low carb machine. I just need to find my mojo.. Almost done and next week will be no excuse. I need to stock up on my HALO TOP.. that stuff has literally saved my life lol and not too hard on the tummy when I just have a small amt.

Redgirl, so easy to do -- don't beat yourself up. 107 is awful to live with if have no ac, especially if you live in town. Cat es, I love your idea. Ice cream is a downfall for me as well. I'm also finding many dairy products are causing me issues as well and am trying to decrease them at this time. Hope the ac unit is for your new place and not the old.

If it's the lactose you have problems with, use Lactase enzyme tablets. Take 2 right before your first bite of dairy foods and you won't get bloated. See if your local wholesale club has a discount on them. I get 180 tabs at BJ's for $13.99. I would pay 3 dollars more for 96 tabs if i bought the Lactaid brand.

crstlgls -- you may not be aware of this, but Lactase tablets do not work for everyone. They didn't work for my mom, and they don't work for me! I have to go with lactose-free dairy.

hermiones but thats odd. lactose free lactos isnt actually lactose free, its regular dairy with a certain amount of lactase enzyme

*lactose free dairy

Yes I know what Lactose-free dairy is. Nonetheless, lactase tablets don't work for everyone. I asked my gastroenterologist about this and he confirmed for me that this was the case and he had heard this from other patients. He also told me that some people can tolerate yogurt, while others cannot, and either way, it was important to be sure that I bought yogurt with live active cultures, because that's what gets rid of the lactose -- the little bacteria eat the lactose so gradually yogurt becomes lactose free. I also told him that I found that I could drink Organic Valley lactose free milk with no problem, but that Lactaid milk didn't agree with me -- although Lactaid cottage cheese is fine. Again, the doctor confirmed he has heard this from other patients and I wasn't crazy.

TY @Hermiones Mom. Wish some people would keep their unsolicited, facile, uninformed advice to themselves. Thank you for your gracious straight-setting.
