A friend who lives in Torrance said there were huge tree die-offs happening. So sad!

Thank you both!.....and remember we have leaders, who wish to overturn world carbon emission, and climate change agreements already agreed on.

I wish people in power wouldn't be so black and white about climate change. Yes, it did happen in the past and humans (in whatever guise) survived. So it happened before and (my figure) 0.1% of the world's population died. Not many back then. Today that would be 7m people. Now I know my figure is a simple guess but surely we aren't blind to the various droughts, crop failures, unseasonal flooding that's happening compared with not many years ago (mind you, LiveAid was mid-80s). Why would anyone want to add to the pollution that may or may not be adding to the problems? Why not err on the side of caution and cut emissions? It makes me sad some still put profit above quality of life and existence

I apologize for all of the hair spray I used in the eighties.

So sad that you haven't gotten rain. But maybe you'll get some snow this year. Cuz I know some places in California get snow.

My idea is how did trying to save our planet become a political issue. It amazes me that family people are the ones that deny we need to protect the planet. I have a Mormon friend I argue with this about, and I tell him, "Aren't you concerned about your 7 kids?" This isn't a concept the likes of nuclear science. It's simple. Look around at all the climate chaos.

Also, they say we are REALLY in a hundred plus year DROUGHT!

Catgirl, we get snow, but it is never enough. Last year wasn't too bad, but this has been going on for a long time. I also, many years ago, dove the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Now, because of water warming 90% of the reef is dead. The reef is white now instead of colorful, like when it lived.

The issue that some (not me) take with "saving the planet" is that all ideas put forth so far are exceptionally expensive, and there are some people who'd rather see that money put toward creating a sustainable food supply for the third world, curing diseases or homelessness, etc. The scientific community is, more and more, also saying that global climate change is the culmination of hundreds of years of human involvement, and therefore, we are unlikely to halt the progress. Therefore, a more appropriate approach is to figure out how we're going to adapt. Move coastal residents inland, begin food production further north, that sort of thing. The state in which I live actually spends more money on "climate change adaptation" than they do on prevention, and it's having immediate and positive effects.

Oh Warren, that makes me so sad. i don't understand how climate change deniers can look at the issues we're having and just say..."nope not really happening. Just your imagination." REALLY. I'm praying that we survive the next administration. I was glad to see that the other countries that committed to the Paris accord for climate change are going to stick to their guns despite what our Pres elect is going to do. @Kpwcalories , you are forgiven. Besides, you were not alone. I used aerosol deodorant for years. ;^(

Thanks BPaula and WestCoast! Funny, it rained all day today, and I hope it continues. They showed these kinds of aerial views on TV, and I was shocked how bad it is. Leaders here are realizing this is not going to get better. It is killing our agriculture. Farmers here of all kinds of crops are panicked. I don't know what we do, this is a critical problem.
