It's funny, I was just curious where this lose/ loose thing came from. You know, it is very interesting, that the new name for "grammar" is called "linguistics", and it struck me, that the class called "linguistics" was almost a way to make our language even more confusing. We all have our own unique way of writing, and conveying our thoughts.

Linguistics is just the study of a language in a scientific manner. Grammar can be a part of that study, but so can the changes in meaning and structure. I was an English major and had to take several linguistics classes. Fun, fun!

It is interesting how it, "linguistics" really opens up the world of conveying thought in writing, like the "massiveness of space". It must have been a liberalizing experience. lol

I think they were things i did anyway and didn't know why until i took the classes. That's why I was an English nerd I guess. They just gave me names for things that you only need named if you're going to talk about them. The classes helped in literature analysis, though.
