I need some help... Im researching/considering interment fasting but dont know anything about it.. Ive tried to wait to eat breakfast lately an started my meals later in the day and actually like it but how would that work if im at work? I feel like it means skipping breakfast and Im not ok with that really cause i would be worried about my stomach growling at work.Just being honest not trying to be silly. So this is what I do now. Wake up 6-7, have coffee and pre work out, go to gym, post work out shake then 1st meal is around 10-11. Im sure this not fasting at all. If i didnt eat after six and had 1st meal at 10 would that be fasting? But having coffee and shake would mess that up so it would really a 12:12 fast ??
Im sorry if this post is dumb I just want to do my homework. Ive noticed Im getting comfortable and eating late and night and I want to use this change in my work situation for good and really nail down a eating routine/schedule. I would imagine my new schedule is going to be either 8-5 or 830 to 530 for a while and then go back to 930-630 down the road. I would ideally like to get out of work go to gym and then have dinner but that would put dinner at like 7-8. How does everyone else do it ? What does the group suggest to help me ? Maybe I dont need to fast, I just need to not eat after 7-8?? Your thought ?

Not yet it isnt. I will be doing that today while I am at work. If you are refering to IF Beast mode 2.0 that is. Everyone that wants to participate be sure you are familiar with the rules. See my current BEAST MODE challange that is running.

http://burnfatnotsugar.com/intermittent-fasting.html Red, here is another site that is pretty thorough on IF. I actually learned lots on the whole site.

Great job with the research, Red, not sure which Atkins book is your main guide but NDR has a section on a fat fasting in ch. 18 that is similar to intermittent fasting, just a few tweaks, and it works amazingly well. Keep in mind that there's been a lot of new research since NDR and some of the "warnings" Dr. A throws in can safely be ignored!

Great post and comments! Question for the IF'ers who are doing 16:8 and such: Are you eating 2 or 3 distinct meals within your eating time frames with no snacks? My question is not so much about how many meals you eat but whether you eat your meals with 3-5 hours inbetween where you do not eat (snack). I've been reading The Obesity Code and that seems like a crucial point, that meals are adequately spaced and that snacks are not utilized.

I have one or two, depending on the day and my work schedule. Never three. Noon to 6 doesn't allow me the time to eat again sometimes. When it's just one, there are snacks for sure.

I fast sometimes and start the fast after breakfast. Then eat again at next days breakfast. I believe breakfast really is the most important meal and try not to skip. Also it should be largest in terms of calories, if not the lunch will have the most. I need to feed my brain and muscles to get going. Might be my age.
