SherryeB's Journal, 12 Sep 24

Tuesday, I was feeling hungry off & on during the day & kind of lost all energy in the afternoon. Not sure of the cause....I thought maybe I'd picked up a bug or something over the weekend cause my nose was running in the evening. The nose may have been the extra spicy jambalaya I made for dinner, though 😏

It may have just been a holdover from the weekend. I didn't sleep that well at my sister's Friday night, in spite of the bed being super comfy. The coverlet on the bed felt heavier than mine & of course I was looking forward to Saturday with the girls.

We had fun at the Daisy Festival, but as usual, my back was bothering me before we hit all the booths. I wish I could find a way to avoid that. We started with the Vintage Village area first. One lady was telling us she'd offer even better prices the more we bought, so challenge accepted 😊 I found 6 vintage appliqued/ embroidered tea towels/ napkins, an embroidered table square & a small bird pillow....all for $19. She also told us to select an item from a box of silver/ silver plate for free. I chose a small dish with engraved flowers I put in my guest room to put jewelry in overnight. The table square colors matched my new coverlet in the guest room, so I ended up using that in there as well. I also bought Hot Honey & an assortment of honey & vinegar bottles from my favorite vendor. My haul included a stuffed candy corn for my great-granddaughter, 2 long necklaces as gifts for our Canadian nieces, some miniature Christmas baubles & a couple of iron garden stakes.

I was reminded how easy it can be to consume more calories than you think you are without seeming to overeat. I went back to log my meals after the fact & when I put in what I'd eaten, it was a little surprising. At the festival, there are an assorment of choices, like an outdoor food court. I got a barbecue sandwich & it was 700+ calories. I drank water & had 3 fries from my sis 😊 My chicken biscuit for breakfast was 600+ calories. Not a big deal for me cause it was just a weekend splurge. But for folks that this is the way they eat every day, it can add up fast. Unless you're highly active & burn LOTS of calories being overweight is sure to follow.

So, Monday & and Wednesday, it was back to the Gym. Food choices a bit more reasonable....weight in acceptable range.

Today, we're supposed to get some much needed rain. It's a rest day, then Gym tomorrow. Where did the week go already!
