sonnymac's Journal, 29 Oct 15

Went up big these last two days. Didn't work and had two big meals a day, but at least I exercised to stop the gain where it ended up at. It could have been worse.

In an effort to regain control, I had this plateful this morning, fish and chayote.

Edit:
Right after eating the food above, jumped on my exercise bike for 33 minutes, 5.4 miles and 229.8 calories burned. After finishing, checked my blood sugar which was 110. Conclusive proof that the tasty chayote is excellent for pre diabetics or diabetics. Tastes sweet with good fiber, can be diced and sauteed, looks like green potatoes on your plate and the taste, superb! Here is what one looks like in the supermarket. Note you may have to go to a Latino market.

Further comment on the food above. That was a large plateful. But two fish fillets and two chayotes sauteed, one apple, a fish taco at dinner followed by a big spoon of peanut butter and half a glass of milk equaled a 2+ pound weight loss. I did not fill hungry or deprived. Think outside of the box. Eat simply and don't be afraid to have the same thing over and over if you like it. It is your body you are trying to slim down.

Had to look up chayote. Had seen it before, but never knew the name. Learn something new every day...thanks for that. Good luck with getting back on track.

You peel and dice like a potato and it has a sweet flavor. I have tested, does not raise my blood sugar.
