I dont know how how many people who has been on restricted calories and doing IF experienced the same? I really struggle to eat all my calories for a day! I started mid Feb with 1300 calories and 18:6 IF. Since this month I struggle to reach 1200 CALORIES! Even doing a free eating day on Sundays where I allow myself to eat anything I want or available to me I struggle to eat a lot ... I just can't!! I try hard to force myself!

I am thinking to lower my daily calorie target / goal to 1200 .. ??

I must also toughen up and go for 1200 calories. On 1500 I just maintain. That’s old age for you 🤦‍♀️.

@Unfit the app’s recommendations are way out. I decided to use the 1500 cal RDI that a dietitian had prescribed for me some years ago. Even that is not working for me anymore, as I’m now retired and inactive. I don’t think less than 1200 is safe though. Below that it’s concentration camp rations, which can harm your metabolism and muscle mass. It’s also likely to promote the development of eating disorders.

Easiest to calculate is bodyweight in pounds x 14. That's your maintenance calories. To be in a deficit - 500 calories from that amount. To be in a surplus +500+

People gain weight due to an unhealthy relationship with food, making poor food choices, not knowing how much they are eating in weight / calories (not tracking correctly) Whether the last one is the apps fault, I don't know. I double check some recipes I make by searching for nutritional values online.

LOL, According to that formula, I should eat 4800 cals a day to lose weight. And I gain weight on anything over 1500, food weighed and calories counted faithfully. Maybe it can work if you use your lean weight, not current bodyweight, but it takes a professional to calculate lean weight.
