livia89's Journal, 28 Jun 15

So I found this pretty nicely written article:
http://www.elephantjournal.com/2013/09/why-i-will-always-choose-to-be-a-little-bit-fat-jamie-khoo/

It says basically that striving to be cover-model thin is usually not the best for our body, and that instead we should focus on striving to be healthy. Adopt a healthy lifestyle, eat right, exercise as much as we feel we should, as our body tells us all it needs. There must be balance between state of mind and control of body, and rather than adopting a certain fad diet or throwing our body in mass fat-burning classes, we should do the things we please. There is more dedication when we adopt the lifestyle we choose than the one that is imposed by following somebody else's success story. It deeply resembles my point of view :)

What do you think?

Cover models are like lanky 14 year old boys, their style works in magazines but they are too skinny, it is not an attractive look in reality to most men

Most models are too thin. A healthy weight, a fit body, and healthy indicators such as blood work I think should be the goal.. I did not read the article.

I agree. I wouldn't be happy with a designed meal plan, too restricting.

You all know I sure would not be happy eating a designed meal plan--I like to play with my food too much...

Exactly my POV, I see a lot of my friends that are starving themselves not happy with their body even if they are slim, there is always something more to "fix". I used to have the same obsession when I was dieting back when I was 20, and it really shook me to become ill and see that my body was weak, not just thin. As for the meals, I like to be spontaneous, and cook my lunch/dinner by looking at what I have in the fridge. I don't think food is the enemy, it's the support for all our activities, and I enjoy going out for a jog or having a Turbo Jam session (definitely recommend it, the trainer is contageously positive and will give you a great vibe). Have a nice day and a good start of the week, everybody :)
