I was reluctant to start logging everything I eat. I’ve been at it two weeks now (per my doctor’s advice) and I already feel myself slipping back into the anorexic thinking patterns I used to have. I’ve recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, so my diet has been further restricted in efforts to manage my pain in addition to the previous weight loss goals my doctor had set for me. I’m not supposed to eat sugar, artificial sweeteners, gluten, grains, starch, red meat, or dairy. I still have some of these things in my house, and I’m too poor to just start over completely, so I’m using what I have and only buying “allowed” foods when I shop to phase in the new diet. I’m staying well under my calorie deficit, so I hope to feel better soon, so this feels worth the suffering.
