redgirl1974's Journal, 05 Jun 15

the big day was yesterday, My baby finally graduated. I had ice cream and cake, we ate at Chili's and I had a donut, some hot dogs and chips. My stomach felt like it had a brick in it last night and it reeked havoc on me this morning BUT I don't care. I had a low carb breakfast and lunch today and am semi back on the wagon bc the festivities continue tonite and we are having happy hour. I make not excuses about having drinks but im getting by butt back to eating low effective immediately. I know Im facing a few rough weeks again bc the cravings will come back but it was worth it. I got it out of my system. I plan to stock up on Sunday and start from square one, not even stepping on the scale till Monday.. back to induction and gym, The uphill battle starts again, But meanwhile, Im enjoying tonite and will have no regrets!! Cheers everyone !! LOVE , this proud MOM!!

Its so emotional for us Moms when they finally grow wings and fly. Four of mine are grown up now and I can't say I really miss them much less, even though the eldest is 28. They are always your babies.

Live in this moment Red. You are far enough up this mountain & know how to climb. Settle in at base camp. Celebrate. Live. Cherish. Enjoy. Be proud. Be a Mom. Then do what you need to do. You can handle it & are strong enough to catch up the climb. You can't be so focused, you don't take the time to live the once in a lifetime experiences. You got this & we got you!!! Congrats!!!

HCB , we went to the recruiter today and they were closed , and Im sure my son even made an appt but meh. We also went to community college and he is set for fall in case the Navy falls thru and he put out a few applications today, again just in case the Navy is going to take longer. He says he is ready but between us, I dont think so .. he is so close though, I just feel like he needs some more time to work on his weight. He is at 187-190 and the requirements say 175 is the min BUT the recruiter keeps saying as long as his BMI is down, he will make. They are holding him back from going till its 24% and last we checked he was at 25% SO it could go either way right now. I think to get to that 1% needed he needs to lose more weight. I dont want to pressure him too much bc he has come along way and if it takes him a month longer then so be it.. Its one more month I have him with me.

I agree - you want him to be emotionally ready, too. So glad you are having fun right now!
