I haven’t posted an update in a while and even though I weigh myself daily, I’m guilty of not updating it here that often! The first picture is from the end of 2017 when I was my heaviest, I weighed 304 pounds. I then decided to make a change and started my journey. The second pic is from May 2018, when I started using FatSecret, I was down to about 280 at that point but found FatSecret made the process of weight loss a lot easier. The second part of the pic is from the end of the summer 2021 and I was about 190 pounds. Last year I got down to 180 but suffered in the gym doing it, and even though I looked decent i felt like crap. That is why I decided to try a bulk and started one in December of last year. This was hard for me after eating in a deficit and maintenance for the past 5 yrs. I started my bulk weighing 189 and finished up about 2 weeks ago at 210. It felt great working out in a calorie surplus and now understand why people do it! I gained about 5 pounds a month and put on a total of 20 pounds. I didn’t overdo the eating and kept to a strict 400 to 500 calorie surplus. It doesn’t sound like a lot but it was a bit difficult seeing the scale go up and continue eating that way. The improvements I made in the gym made it all worth it though. Well that leaves me with the last picture taken about two weeks ago. I ate at maintenance for the past two weeks and will now be going back to a deficit to start my cut. I have definitely learned from my journey that chasing a number on the scale isn’t always the answer, that weighing a certain weight isn’t always the number we will feel our best at. I will definitely be paying attention to that rather than the scale weight during this cut.

Hell yea... I enjoy my training much better on a surplus to the point where my mind looks forward to training. Now on a cut my mind still wants to train but I’m suffering instead 🤣
Great journey! I think body composition matters more. I feel great lean and felt great when obese on the bulk
