Today's fasting blood sugar is 7.0 mmol/L.

Today is an arthritic Tylenol sort of day which is something I rarely take b/c of my liver but the incoming winter storm has every joint swollen and hurting, especially my arms and hands. Somehow I don't think I have enough Tiger Balm to help :(

Last night, my son got a treat ;) I made Beef Stew and without using thickeners like I used to do 20 years ago. It was a couple rashers of bacon sauteed with onions and garlic, then seared the blade beef bite-sized pieces, added in some cooking sherry and cooking red wine to get the caramelized bits from the bottom of the pan, added in a small can of diced cherry tomatoes and then topped off with probably 6-8 cups water. Brought it to a boil then reduced heat to a simmer for 2 hours. Added in some cut up red potatoes, carrots and a cup of peas and cooked for 1/2 hour more. Adjusted the seasonings and yum! I know it's good when my son goes back for a 2nd large helping!! I behaved and ate only what is in the bowl.
