Getting mentally and physically set up for success to begin again to work on regaining my health and losing weight, the baking of homemade shortbread was not a part of the equation, but it is one of the things I did yesterday.

My plan was to divide it almost in half, leaving only a couple pieces for myself to savor. One half was going to my hairdresser as a birthday treat(which it did, and I was going to take the other half to the office where I volunteer. When I learned that hardly anyone was going to be in the office, I left it at home. And, you guessed it, by noon today I had consumed it all. Okay, I got that out of my system now.

It's a beautiful day here in SC, but I'm still home and in my nightgown at 4:30 in the afternoon. It's not that I've been lounging around. I've been productive. But it's not how I planned to spend the day.

In my defense, I did things that needed to be done and have been thinking about and setting myself up so that when I do go out to run errands, I don't do it haphazardly. I have errands in at least three different directions and, thankfully, I only need to in one direction (and back) today. The rest will be well-organized and can be divided up between tomorrow and Friday.

Some days you get moving and forget to get dressed before. It happens. Next time, maybe put the shortbread into the freezer instead of leaving it out where it could be seen would help. Hope today goes well! Onward!!

A couple of things I consider to be wonderful benefits of retirement: no more high heels, lingering with my morning coffee, and hanging out in my nightgown as long as I feel like it!
