livia89's Journal, 13 Feb 15

I feel like a total dump. I hate the weather now, it makes me so irritable, I lack energy and I would simply sleep and eat all day. And it's not healthy eating that we're talking about :( I can't seem to pick myself up and get going, do a workout here, another one there... And my friend's engagement party is in 5 weeks. I know I might seem a loser as I blame it all on the weather, but this is how I am, this is my level of meteorological sensitivity. If I eat at about 1300 cals, and clean, it seems like I need more, and I crave chocolate like it's the meal of Gods, bah! Sitting up from bed seems like a huge effort. I just hate it, and I can't wait for the weather to clear up and have myself act like a normal human being.
I did get the chance to cook some fish and veggies in the oven today, but it send me a few hours to bed afterwards. I am bear, I suppose, I need to hibernate :D

Maybe you have winter depression and chocolates make you feel better. A lot of people have that because they miss the sunlight. Hang in there.

Yes, I definitely think I do. I just noticed, snezica, that you began your journey of losing weight in March. I think spring is the best time for it, not too cold, and still in time for some changes to appear till summer ;) I hope I'll get some changes also until summer begins. Thanks for your support!

What type of via ins are you taking?

Livia, if this persists you might find some ways to pep up your day just a few minutes at a time...but if it's just a day or two, I've found that "I allow myself" those days. My personal make up demands a "personal day" at least once a month. I let my family know, "Guys, Mom's taking a personal day": translation...make your own meals, do your own laundry, run your own errands...Mom's staying in bed and either watching TV or sleeping :) After that I'm usually good to go. But again, if this is an ongoing condition...there are steps you can take to gradually come back....

I know that feeling. Taking vitamins have helped me. I take 5000 u of Vitamin D and a B complex every morning and a multivitamin at night. It helps me get through the winter.

Yes, I was trying to type vitamins. I take calcium with D and a B complex everyday now. It's incredible how much better you will feel despite the weather and anything else going on around you.

Did you ever have your B vit levels checked? You may need a B12 shot from the doc.

Livia, sorry you are feeling so down, I wish I could send you some sunshine to give you a pick me up.

Thank you, everyone. I never thought it might be a vitamin deficiency, I'll check it out and get more vitamin D in (this one is the one secreted during Sun exposure, so this for sure is lacking now). I'll test and hope next year this won't happen anymore :)
