I'm very appreciative of all the people that tries helping me to lose weight in the proper way. I have tried many diets and done much research. One site told me to eat 1800 cals. a day & exercise at least 30 mins a day to lose 2 lbs a week. I did it for 30 days & gained 16 lbs. I've found if I eat over 1200 cals a day, I will not lose wt., & probably will gain. I tried the Paleo Diet for 30 days & lost 15 lbs. Now I'm doing Paleo & Low Carb combined. I do eat vegs, meat, eggs, breads made out of coconut, almond, & flax flour. I do not eat wheat, oats, rice, etc. If I want noodles I eat the ones made of sea weed, or make my own from zucchini. I get a physical every 6 mos, & blood work every 3 mos. Everything was good except my cholesterol was a bit high. After losing weight on Paleo diet the latest test was normal levels. I do have arthritis pretty bad, but do exercise most everyday. I'm often told I don't eat enough, & my body goes into starvation mode. I wonder if there are exceptions to that? Because I've found that if I follow a normal diet that includes breads, starches, beans, etc. I will gain weight. I will feel sluggish. I take fish oil, Vit. D, CoQ-10, Magnesium, & a couple more daily. Most days I walk unless my knees hurt really bad. If so I ride a stationary bike. I lift wts, do pull ups, & about a couple hrs a day work in the yard or house. That's about it. Oh I ate a small Reuben sandwich about a week ago for supper. A veg. salad & avocado stuffed with peppers, boiled egg, on bed of lettuce for lunch, & a slice of Lox w/cream cheese for breakfast. Except for the Reuben sandwich, nothing new. Next morning I gained 3 lbs. The sandwich weighed about 6 or 8 ozs. It was store bought.
