I’m feeling hungry, discouraged, and really F U diet tonight. I only ate about 800 calories between my breakfast and lunch today but I have a feeling I’m going to go over my limit for dinner “sigh”. Why does weight loss have to be so miserable! I miss my younger days, where I literally ate whatever I wanted without a second thought. I read somewhere today “I wish everything was as easy as getting fat” I laughed and thought so true.

I always eat at least half my calories at suppertime. I know FS encourages only 500 calories for supper but I can never make that work. So … light breakfast and lunch! Anyway…if the 800 calories you already had today represent half your dailies, that’s still “weight-losing territory for most of us 🙂

I eat about half my calories after 4pm, breakfast and lunch take the other half. It’s up to you how you spread it out. Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks Laura that made me feel better honestly! FS says my RDI is 2400 but that can’t be right! I eat about 1200-1500 daily and I barely see ain’t weight changes. Something is not adding up!

Don't be down on yourself. You are miles ahead of other people who have limited insight, and do not measure or count what they eat at all. A small set back helps you to realize your strengths and weaknesses and helps you plan for tomorrow.

Diet is hard because basically you are depriving your body of the energy it needs to function in order to force it to make use of the stored energy “fat”, and therefore, lose weight, but our body will try very hard to preserve what it has in stock as a survival mechanism. Think about this: our ancestors were in a environment of scarcity. It was crucial to have energy stored for periods of lack of food. We, however, currently live in a environment completely inadequate to our biological design, and are surrounded with abundance, in fact, excess, that’s why there is so much obesity, each year the ratio increases more and more. It’s because of this mechanism that our ancestors survived, and passed their genes on, and here we are. Hang in there girl. If you eat extra 200 kcal, walk fast for 40minutes.

I so know what you mean about younger days!! I was just telling my 20 year old son that when I was his age I could eat a ton of food and not gain an ounce. Sigh the good days. Now I some much as look at a French Fry I gain a pound. 😉

If your allowed calories are leaving you hungry, up them at least 200 and rework yourmacros so that your protein and fiber intake is high and your carbs lower (25% to 30% max). It's not just calories as we age. It's hormones. And too many carbs switch off fat burning unless we reduce calories further. . .which makes us hungry. Protein and fiber are filling. And be sure to add resistance training to your routine, if you haven't already. Muscles are energy-burning powerhouses, and we lose muscle as we age, which also contributes to weight creep.

My RDI is 2400 according to FS but that can’t be right! So I used TDEE calculator which says for weight loss I should consume 1651. Which seems accurate.
