Ok, I'm feeling kinda awesome right now. Why? Because I feel like Wonder Woman incognito. :P I tried to debone a whole chiken for the first time with the Jacques Pepin method. It was sloppier and took longer, but hey, first time. I think I can get the handle of it within a dozen birds. (I am amusing myself with the mental image of counting prowess by number and elapsed time of bird dismemberment. A new Kitchen Olympics sport, perhaps? :P) So now one $5 chicken is going to make a pot of homemade broth, a stuffed bird (made some yummy spinach, feta and quinoa stuffing. :) ), and a few "lollipops".
Also I am excited to see my baby's development. Little Bit is crawling now and demonstrating language recognition. (She understands "no".) I am feeling encouraged because I have decided to start potty training her and it's going well so far. :)
FYI, pottytraining an infant is quite different from pottytraining a toddler. Instead of expecting her to use the toilet the focus now is building the association between having her diaper changed and sitting on the toilet. (I hold her on my lap.) It's kind of funny, but at almost 8 months, she thinks toilets are really neat "rides". Realizing that to her the toilet is almost like a carnival experience is for me is comical. But noise, movement, water, what's not to love?! :P
