Im doing the Atkins/Ketogenic diet. I spent an enormous amount of time in the grocery store trying to find different foods that are low carb so I have a variety of foods and dont get bored. I accomplished finding quite a few items I can eat that doesnt take me over 22 carbs and I get to eat a lot. Problem is a lot of those foods are also light on the calories if their low on carbs and I cant seem to get enough calories for the day. I work out at the gym pretty aggresively monday through Friday, burning about 700 plus calories each day. Anyone out there know how to get more calories without the carbs let me know. I am consuming quite a bit of food a day already. Help Me Please.

Have you tried recipes with flaxseed meal? I made crepes with it and OMM's which raises up the cals some and is delicious! That and almond flour have saved me from cheating lately. Good luck!

Eat bigger portions of lean protein. Use full fat low carb dressing instead of light dressing. Use full fat cheese instead of light to get more calories. If you have heart disease in the family and are trying to avoid fats, then get the calories in protein. Calories in protein add up quickly.

I just looked at your menu and agree with Suzi - the low fat options are actually better as full fat on the low carb dite. People that have always eaten low-fat or light struggle with the full fat but that is what the diet calls for... Also fattier meats - beef maybe or bacon?
