Oh, that scale is a joke. It jumped up two pounds again since the start of this week. I had a 3 bad choices yesterday but did not go over my calories and I pumped out at the gym this week, even on my work days~ and poop! I know I can not be discouraged, I still have a 5 pound weight loss for the month of October. October marked my start at the gym and paying for a personal trainer and I expected so much more. Oh well, such is life. Going to keep pushing on~

Trainer today at 4:30. I am going to go at 3:00pm and get my cardio and work out in before hers. She kills me and when were done, all I want is to drop~

Love to all,
P

could it be muscle gain? Muscle weighs more than fat. So if you lose fat but gain more muscle than the fat...?????

Google "why the scale lies". It gives insight in to water weight fluctuations. Any change in exercise routine can cause the muscles to retain water. It is temporary an can show on the scale as no loss, smaller loss than usual or a temporary gain. I went on a long bike ride and gained 4 pounds the next day. It went away. It will go away. Eating extra carbs can also cause our cells to retain more water. Protein pushes water out and carbs suck it in (sort of), lol! Just keep going and give it time.

Not to be a stickler, but muscle really does not weigh more than fat. It is however denser so a pound of fat will take up more space than a pound of muscle but that really doesn't show up on a scale. It will show up in the way clothes fit or your measurements. An easy way to think of it is to ask would you rather carry a pound of feathers or a pound of bricks? The answer should be that it doesn't matter because a pound is a pound but think of how many feathers (fat) you would have to carry and how much space that would take compared to a pound of bricks (muscle) and how little space that would take up. Make sense? In my opinion, a more plausible reason for a weight gain like that is simply fluid. The average adult body has 40 quarts of fluid but can fluctuate between 39 and 41 which is approximately a four pound difference. I truly hope that everyone takes this post as I intend it - as informative and not preachy or snarky in any way.
