Stuck again. This is frustrating but it’s okay.

I agree totally and I feel ya. Just keep doing what your doing and it’ll sort itself out. You can do it. 😁

Thank you! I don’t have a further goal at the moment, so I should just be satisfied with what I have accomplished so far. It’s just a bit hard to continue with a careful diet and not see the same results I was seeing. It’s okay, though.

No I completely understand that. It’s a lot of hard work to lose weight and it gets very discouraging when we don’t “see” progress. It’s makes us feel like we’ve failed in some way. But I’ve looked at your past posts and you are making great achievements. Don’t forget that there is so much more to what the number on the scale says. The MOST important thing is how you feel. Do you feel better when you put on a pair of pants and they are looser? Do you feel better when your body composition has changed? Because our bodies can change a lot even if the number on the scale stays the same. It doesn’t mean that our body has stayed the same. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes that doesn’t reflect in the number on the scale. So we need to try and not base so much just solely on that number. Remember you are doing a fantastic job and just keep pushing forward and the benefits will show themselves. Great job!!!

Are you noticing any cyclic patterns? I’m making a leap to assume that you are female. Most of us (even we old menopausal girls, lol) notice changes in weight and weight loss patterns with menstrual cycles and hormonal changes. I even track my weekly pattern as we have a more indulgent Friday and Saturday than on weekdays. Still, I’m averaging losing roughly one pound per week.

Thank you, potato. Yes, I do notice that my clothes no longer fit and that does feel like an accomplishment. I went shopping the other day and bought a size I don’t remember ever buying. Maybe I would have worn that size in high school but I wasn’t buying the same style of clothing, so it felt very new. I notice changes in my body as well. It’s “okay” for the scale to stall out here, yet it still feels a bit frustrating. I was thinking about just maintaining around this weight but FS says to increase my RDI and it doesn’t seem possible to increase my calories and maintain this weight when I am just maintaining it while restricting. It’s complicated!

Thanks, Tracy. Yes, I am a female and I definitely notice cyclical bloating and weight gain. It’s annoying because it’s typically accompanied by cravings and increased hunger. Weekends are when I indulge more as well. A pound a week is good progress; great work!

I’m working on changing the way I cook to keep the caloric value of my meals lower. I watched a series on Amazon Prime called the Hairy Dieters. Two chefs from the UK trying to drop pounds by amending favourite recipes. Many are using more spices and flavours so the food is still amazing. This way, I get a good volume of food while keeping my weight down.
