I had someone tell me atkins products were not good for the diet is this true? I love sweets it is my downfall I have to have a sweet at night its out of habit I guess and I just can't kick it right now does anyone have advice?

"Select" the item in your food diary so that the Nutrition Facts come up. Down along the left side you'll see an "edit" option. Click on it and you can edit the info. Right now, you have 25 carbs minus 11 fiber, giving you 14 net carbs. Whatever net carbs the Atkins wrapper says, add the appropriate number to fiber, so that your net carbs come out correctly. Then, there's an additional info area....explain that the true fiber grams are 11 but you are adding to the fiber so that the net carbs come out correctly per the package. This way, both total and net carbs are still correct, but, of course, the fiber will be overstated. I believe that the only other option is to show carbs and fiber per the package and just "know" that your own net carbs are overstated. This situation happens a LOT with Atkins products. Congrat's on the weight loss BTW!

Oh, and there are various views on Atkins products. They do stall weight loss for some people; but others have no problem with them as long as they're used in moderation. Others feel that they're over-processed and one should be going for the freshest, least processed foods (generally a good idea IMO). Personally I use them, generally 1 bar a day and it hasn't seemed to alter my weight loss pattern. The products are a life-saver if you know you'll be gone from home for awhile and don't want to get too hungry before the next meal/snack. They're also good to have around if you'll be around office get-togethers where you might not find something Atkins-friendly. If you like the products, I'd say go for it, but just be watchful. If you stall, that would be one of the first products I'd eliminate to get yourself going again. Good luck.
