At this point, I'm not really even trying to lose weight anymore, yet it keeps coming off. I am eating what feels right, and not feeling deprived at all (uhm, hellllooooo, Halloween candy!), but apparently my metabolism, movement, and eating habits have changed enough that "eating whatever I want" doesn't result in the weight gain it used to. Cool.
I guess a big part of it is really that I recognize the difference between a special treat (mmm, Chinese takeout!) and the good-for-me foods that should be making up most of my diet. Recognizing that difference means that I'm not having Chinese takeout one day.... and Chick-fil-a the next... and pizza the next... and so on. Instead, if I have Chinese take-out one night, then I make up for it the next day by going back to the regular good-for-me foods.
I should also add that at this point, I am not entering every.single.bite of food in my food diary the way I did for a long time- as I gain confidence in myself making the right choices, I am feeling better about not entering every snack. I am getting better at tracking the calories in my snacks to keep them in balance with my meals throughout the day.
