I shared a post today detailing my struggles and the things I'm currently not feeling great about. This post will be about the good things going on!
I've completed some really fun hikes lately! Crane Mountain was a short loop (under 4 miles) but the most technically challenging we've done. It was very rocky and had multiple ladders on the course, including a 30 foot ladder. The ladder was scary but I did it! The view at the summit was amazing and so peaceful. We didn't pass anyone else the entire day.
We most recently finished a 14.5 mile hike crossing 3 peaks. We even crossed paths with a baby bear! Thankfully, there was no sign of mama but it made for an element of excitement. One section of the hike featured an elevation change of 1100 feet over 1.5 miles. I definitely struggled with it coming back up the trail. My heart rate kept going above 170 and I was really out of breath. I had to stop quite often but we powered through!
We only have 1 peak left on the Lake George 12sters challenge! I think we'll tackle that one on Saturday.
We've also knocked out 5 of the Adirondack 29er Peak Challenge, with another hike planned for that on Friday.
