I have said it before and say it again ... I hate it! It interferes with my eating program ... but ... Don't want to be a party pooper either!!

I always take a piece of fish in tinfoil to a braai and have salads with it. Absolutely divine plus saves on calories!

I think it’s all about balance! I understand that you don’t want to be a party pooper... and you only live once! Try to be as healthy as possible, have salads, give the braai broodjie a skip along with the snacks and desserts, take your own booze, a good ol’ Gin with sugar free tonic is a great option. Remember that you are in control, and can do anything you set your mind to. It’s sometimes awkward telling people that you are trying to be healthy or dieting but people are truly understanding if you are firm yet polite. At the end of the day, if you have a couple of things you shouldn’t, remember that you can easily bounce back. Even if it takes a week to get to your pre-braai weight, the memories and living your best life is worth it all.

I can relate so much😂 eat just the meats and salads, skip the pap and enjoy a gin and tonic.. most importantly, record it all☺️ have fun

It’s important to enjoy these moments. Enjoy and eat within reason and carry on with your calories the day after. Don’t weigh yourself for a week.

Food is not ruling my life! I have done this before! I just want to do what I do 100% perfect and get it done as quick as possible according to the goals I have set for myself and thereafter get on with my "new normal"! This is just such an obstacle setting me back / delaying my progress for another week no matter how I try to compensate or comprimise .. !! Just wanted to share my frustrations / emotions because I know I am not the only one experiencing this from time to time!

@salt and pepper ... Just keep going! You have moved a mountain so far and done what only a few people, if any, have done! Congrats on your progress so far!!

share your journey with your friends and family. no. they don't always show support. yes. some may pass snippy and snide comments. but they may surprise you and end up being really encouraging. my circle of friends know my plan (took a while for me to be brave enough to share it!) but now when we do get together there are a few who really make an effort. and then, if all else fails.. stick to your plan, say no thanks to the extras and track your calories as best as possible so that you can pick yourself up for the rest of the week. you definitely aren't the only one. I think more times than not, we get more support from our virtual community than our family/friends, so you always can turn to us to share any obstacles. it's how we all learn from each other 🍗🥗

Don’t allow your lifestyle make you antisocial ! Incorporate your lifestyle in your social life. By being mindful of what you eat and how much of it you eat

enjoy the braai but control portions and steer clear of things that could derail you. everything in moderation is okay

Take your own salad. Say you are carb intolerant. use cauliflower instead of potato for salad and nice salsa(tomato red onion chivea cucumber and vinegar with sweetener....carrot and pineapple salad, guacamole..

Agree 100% with you. And I can't stand it when you go to a braai and they eat so late
