I think I may have to eliminate dairy from my diet, and the thought of that makes me cringe. I enjoy my diary on the Atkins. It's one of the few things left that feels like I'm indulging! I'm going to give it a little longer before I decide.

I'm sensitive to wheat and I heard that when you are detoxing from gluten that it can cause a myriad of symptoms. So, I'm going to wait to make sure my issues aren't related to detox.

I had to come off dairy and gluten when I was nursing my second son, he was extremely sensitive to both. I hated eating then and I was miserable. So much I couldn't have. Oh well, it's about my health right? Food shouldn't be about "feeling good" or "enjoyment". It should be about nourishment. I need to find something to invest myself in to get that "feel good" feeling. Too bad exercise doesn't "feel good"! LOL!

I eat very little dairy products, and I LOVE cheese. I used to put it on everything! But, I'm lactose intolerant, and even when I take my pill (Lactaid) with my dairy, the majority of it still tends to "stop me up". Mainly cheese and sour cream. Several months ago, I started replacing shredded cheese with grated parmesan (the kind in the can). You don't have to use very much to get the flavor, so it fits in well with my "you don't need a TON, just a TASTE" mantra.. lol. And you're right, food should be about nourishing our bodies, but it's still possible to enjoy the low-carb food we eat. I know when I'm eating cream cheese-stuffed peppers, I definitely feel good! It's like I'm "cheating" lol. We've just gotta retrain our brains to think of food differently. There's certainly a lot of "feel good" low-carb foods :)
