Does anyone else have a "fear of trying on smaller sizes??" I went shopping with my mom (at Ross) the other day and was looking for a new denim skirt. If you dont know, Ross is kinda like TJ Max, you never know what you're gunna find or what sizes there will be. Well, i only found 2 denim skirts - a size 22 (the size I wore 35 pounds ago) and an 18. I bought the 22 instead of the 18 out of fear that the 18 would be too small and would just hang in my closet making me sad. Soooo, I wore the skirt yesterday - and I could not keep it up!! It was a bittersweet experience. Shopping still scares me cuz all stores/designers are different and I dont know what size i will need to wear. I guess I just have to try things on more - but that depresses me sometimes. And it is hard for me to not still think of myself as 265 pounds. And i get so scared that the smaller size will still be too small - even after all my hard work! I just feel in-between sizes and its frustrating!! Geeze!

Clothes are a pain in the butt while losing! You might fit into an 18 with one designer, but a 20 with another. I just say that you have to take a minute and take at least 2 sizes with you into the dressing room and try them on or you'll have a hard time find a good fit to reward your successful losses! It is a bit intimidating, but you are doing this!! Chin up and try them on babes! :)

I just don't like shopping for clothes, or shoes for that matter. shopping is the frustrating part for me. There's not much I can buy without having to get it hemmed, but if I get myself to the dress store, I am going to try everything on to make sure it fits first, and like BT, I take more than one size to the fitting room. Having to shop for smaller sizes should be delightful for you---and if something doesn't fit, its the designer fault :) I am the size I am, I am looking for clothes that fit me, that look good on me. Sizes are just another numbers game. Any chance of taking that skirt back and getting a better size?

Celebrate those 18s and keep up the great work! I have had to buy a few new clothes because the ones I have just don't fit anymore, but I really hate to buy much while I am changing sizes because I hope they won't fit in a month or two! What a nice problem! Hope things go well for your grandma. Nursing care after the surgery sounds like the only real option because family just cannot provide what she will need. My mother is 88 and has a lot of memory loss, plus severe arthritis in her back. She is going to move into an assisted living center for a month while we are on vacation. I wish she would decide that she really loves it and wants to stay but she is stubborn as a mule.

I know exactly what you mean!!! But stop it!!! (slap, slap) ;) Time to enjoy those 18s. Go buy a pair of jeans and look at your butt in the mirror!!! Come on - you've got to look GREAT! Get your mind where your body is by dressing skinnier. Whatever that means to you!
