BG 103; It's 11a.m. and I just got back from the hospital. My mom was just moved to another hospital. She had a heart attack last night about 10pm. Fortunately, they believe it was mild but the hospital here is more of a "patch-up" station so she was taken by ambulance to a heart specialist in the tri-cities. I'm feeling out of sorts and sad today. Because I have no transportation, I couldn't go and be with her, so I'm waiting by the phone. ..mild heart attack or not, it's still scary. My mom is 81, scorpio and not quite 5 ft tall. She's about 106 pounds and still has one long braid and hazel eyes. She has diabetes II and not in the best of health as of late. We have no other family in the area. Thank you for any positive thoughts :)

Ruby, I am so sorry to hear about your mother. Is there a church group nearby or American Red Cross? A lot of times they would be willing to help in a situation like this. Sometimes they can give gas vouchers, cab fare, bus tickets, etc. I hope she ends up being fine and you get to see her.

Awwwwww....honey I'm so sorry. I know how you feel I have been in your position. Think only positive thoughts....I know its hard to do that..but try. My prays go out to you and your family....and as we say in Spanish "Que dios la bendiga." may god bless her..

Thanks Keli. I'm sure if things got bad I could get a ride and hopefully some help. Right now she's doing petty good. It's just that I've lost people before and sometimes they are fine one minute and gone the next. Before this happened she has been sleeping an awful lot this last year.. nodding off sometimes. Her doctor told me what to expect. She's lived much longer than they thought she would already. I don't know why I'm weepy. I mean she is STILL HERE. Except for my 3 kids, my mom is the last of my family. ..I'm just rambling.. I'm sure she'll be fine.. <smiles> Thanks again Keli

Ruby, don't worry about rambling. While this might be a diet website, everyone in this group is here for you and you can ramble as much as you want.

She will be fine...remember positive thoughts. And you are not rambling and if you are its ok. I know we don't know eachother but I'm here. I don't like to see people hurt. Hugs!

Ruby I am so sorry to hear about your Mom's heart attack and that you have not been able to be with her as you want to be. Keli had some great suggestions. It's hard to ask for help but I know you would feel better seeing her. Maybe you could call the hospital and talk to the social worker and explain about your transportation problems. There are often volunteers that work for hospitals that might be willing to drive you to see your Mom. I will be saying prayers for you and your MOM. Love, Andrea
