I made a pot of chili, today, and added two unusual ingredients, for the first time; chocolate syrup, and cinnamon; the gamble paid off. This chili is good! :-)

Is that kind of Mexican style?

Wow...I would never have thought of chocolate syrup. I have been tempted to use the coffee in my chili, they say it is really good and you can't taste the coffee.

Gigi, yes, you could say it's Mexican style, as chocolate is one of the ingredients in some mole sauces; that's where I got the idea from. I used Sugar Free Hershey's Chocolate Syrup, and only a couple of tbs at that. I used cinnamon because that's what goes in Cincinati chili. :-) I've seen chili competitions, on TV, and went to a chili cookoff, about ten years ago in the San Diego area, and some of the people used these ingredients in their chilis. I took a chance and, this time, it worked out. :-) TOFU, try using the coffee, if it works, great, if not, then you'll be the first to know and won't have to bother using it again. LOL I generally have more successes than failures, but every once in a while, I'll make something so bad, it just leaves me scratching my head, trying to figure out what went wrong. LOL
