Depends on your current weight, age, and activity level. As mentioned above, the online calorie calculators are great.

Your body burns calories even if you don’t exercise. go on google and check your BMR body metabolism rate. One pound is 3500 kcal. most people burn 2000 kcal a day just while living. so you can kind of do the math but it’s a slow rate of losing weight if that’s your plan. so your natural burned calories a day which is 2000 kcal minus a meal once a day of 500 kcal and that’s if you can fast that long or spread the whole day eatting only 500kcal. You will have burned 1500 kcal a day you would lose about 3 pounds a week at this rate.

You don’t need to overboard
with the exercise, just get out and walk
listen to music or TED talks.
We go for a hilly walk for an 1.25 hours ever day
and for calories-
add a zero to the weight we want to be at
and thats our caloric goal that day. Works for us.

multiply your weight X 12. ex: I weigh 236 so 236X12=2832. Each gram of fat is 9 calories, and its recommended to stay under 30% fat calories. So, 2832÷9=314.6 X 30%=94.4g fat. To maintain my weight 2832cals/94g fat.
